What I sewed in 2017

Or at least the things I sewed in 2017 that I have pictures of on my phone or posted on Instagram, because I am a terrible blogger who never takes proper pictures with a proper camera. Some of them aren't too bad and some of them are even blogged!
Dresses:
First we have the short winter Named Kielo wrap dress that I made with the long sleeve expansion they have available on their blog out of a think scuba knit; a self drafted slip dress based off of a RTW one I had in my closet in a light graphic print rayon; another Named Kielo that I made using the Sprout patterns service (super awesome but a little expensive); a Seamwork Ida dress out of some fabric that I have had in my stash for a couple years; and finally a Gemma Dress from Named Patterns in some very stable (maybe too stable haha) knit fabric! I will get the rest of these blogged in 2018 maybe :P
Tops:
For tops I made three versions of the Colette Sorbetto (yay for free patterns!). The first one was a classic "view two", to get a feel for the pattern, and this one is actually my favourite and most worn out of the three, probably because of the pineapples. Next I made a shirt for work out of a mystery purple fabric that is pretty but doesn't lie exactly the way I had hoped, and finally a tie front version (with the centre pleat omitted) out of some shirting cotton. I also made a shear sleeveless top that I can't find the pattern for but it was a Butterick one I'm pretty sure. and Lastly we have a velvet colour blocked Basic InstincT from Secondo Piano! More on that last one later.
Bottoms:

I only made one bottom last year! This is the Osaka skirt from Seamwork, a really cute reversible skirt that is great for summer outings. I used this cool fabric (jacquard maybe? it was from Joannes I think) and a white twill for contrast.
Gifts:
December was a big month for me sewing-wise since I decided to make a whole bunch of handmade Christmas gifts for people! First was the Gemma Sweater that I made for Adam, I had to adjust the pattern a little to be better suited for his style but it turned out really well! I actually made this at the same time as making the Gemma dress for myself, which was awesome since I finished both is pretty good time, but I also didn't leave any time for learning in between so both of us have too tight head holes and too tight sleeves.
I also made a Grainline Archer button up (this photo is before the buttons went on, I never got a final photo on my stepmom but it fit and she loved it!), a Seamwork Sadie for my mom (pictured here), oven mitts for Adam's mom made with fabric from Spoonflower - one side Boston Terriers and one side Miniature Poodle, and the last three were velvet tshirts for my sisters - an oversized one, a v-neck with the little cross detail, and a cropped fitted version. I was in a huge rush to finish these so I got zero pictures but I swear they look just like the ones in those pictures :)
Other Stuff!
So the first thing I made in 2017 was a cushion for the bench in our front hall, it was a little more tricky than I thought it would be, but no one notices the wonky corners other than me. I also made some curtains for the living room, it was impossible to find nice ones that weren't like a million dollars, and these are like totally perfect. The last thing I didn't actually do any sewing for but did do a lot of DIY on and that was our halloween costumes! We got the dress and suit from Value Village and then I stenciled a fun pattern on his whole suit to be more Don Cherry-esque, and hot glue gunned a million little cherries all over my dress. Super Successful costume me thinks.
OK THANKS THATS IT!
