Black and White Windowpane Wrap Top

I made a McCall's M6991 Faux Wrap top! View B just without the pocket. I actually made this pattern once before a number of years ago, but for that one I altered the pattern to better suit a close-fitting knit shirt look, this time I wanted to make a flowy work blouse that follows the pattern as is.

I finished this top in May - and wore it during my Me Made May challenge, which I still haven't blogged about... But I will! Recap coming soon!

Overall I love the fabric but I'm not crazy about the style of the shirt. I find it hard to style in a way that looks professional and always feel frumpy at some point in the day. I usually have it tucked in, I think maybe it's too big. Might be cute with leggings, we shall see.

The construction went smoothly, the fabric is pretty shifty but pressed well and was ok to sew with lots of pins. I do think I should have slimmed the sleeves down and maybe added a cuff. I still might alter the shirt since I want to love it more than I do and I think it could be a big part of my wardrobe if I make a few small changes - like the sleeves, and maybe a couple buttons?

Front hall selfies :) This was my Me Made May outfit for this shirt, double prints

The original M6991 top, a weekend/cottage staple. Made with a thin white jersey fabric that has silver metallic stripes. I do have to wear a tanktop under this as the top tends to gap open a little bit.

Here's me trying to show you the front, side and back like Secondo Piano. Need a better white wall.

With my silver spring coat :)
