Blue-Grey Vintage Linen Jumpsuit
I made a snazzy jumpsuit from a pattern that came out in the same year I was born! Does 1990 count as vintage? :) This pattern - Butterick 5000 Fast&Easy - is one of the ones my mom gave me when she was clearing out a lot of her old sewing stuff. Thanks Mom!

Doug and I both being blinded by the sun while we try to impersonate models.
I sewed up View C - the pattern has two dress options and a jumpsuit, and when I googled the pattern the internet says it's a maternity pattern which makes sense since it's super loose fitting, with lots of room to "grow" into haha. Its weird that they don't show that on the envelope though, I had no idea! The only alteration I made was to take a little bit of the fabric out at the side/underarm since it was really gapey.

The neck line is a super deep deep-v so I have to wear a shirt underneath. There are also waist ties and a zipper down the back.

Admittedly the seat area is a more loose fitting than I would like, maybe it looks better when I'm walking :) #diaperbutt

Pre-hem and zipper, looking good so far!

That v-neck facing was REALLY tricky to sew in nicely. Will have to work on that more for future v-neck makes.

always helping!

Pleased with myself right after finishing! :D

You can get the pattern on eBay or Etsy, there are a couple available - I find it helps to include "jumpsuit" in the search since Butterick has made a number of 5000 patterns over the decades.
And here are some of the inspiration jumpsuits I found online, I still want to make one with the skinny straps and wide legs more like linen overalls at some point.
