Grainline Archer - Purple Plaid x2
I made another Grainline Archer button-up shirt! I used a purple and blue plaid flannel shirting that is a little more "formal" than my first Archer, but that one coincidentally is also a purple and blue flannel! I made the first one a couple years ago from a very thick flannel, it's more of a stay at home house coat type shirt now, and since it seems to fit well with this post I have included it down below! Two for one deal on blog posts.

Ready to get cutting!

When you're not used to the sun being so bright in Newfoundland :P

Showing off the back yoke and box-pleat. I didn't really worry about print matching on the yoke, but I did try to line it up across the front, which I'm happy with
I really like this pattern for a relaxed button-up shirt, so far I've made three flannel versions (two for me, one as a gift) and one linen, at some point I want to make a silk/satiny work shirt since I think the loose boxy fit would be cool for a fancier fabric like that. Without the pockets though.
Now for the Original Archer! These photos were taken at my mom's house a couple years ago and I think it was the very first button-up shirt I ever made! I did do a couple things wrong - the button holes on the placket are the wrong way and I did the box pleat in the back the wrong way. Both of these things work ok even if they look a little sil;y, so I didn't bother un-picking or re-cutting anything.

The new one is actually a direct copy of the Archer I made for Mel (ma step-mom) for Christmas, her's is in a red and blue colourway of the same flannel plaid I used for this one! And I was so jelly while making it I had to cut into my purple fabric like right away :D.
