Sewaholics Granville button-up

I made a shirt! A Sewaholics Granville button up shirt! Sewaholics is a Canadian indie pattern company (and fabric store in Vancouver I think), they no longer make new patterns but they appear to still sell the paper patterns on their website so you can get this one.

The Granville is a fitted button up with bust darts and back princess seams, the pattern is drafted for a pear-shaped silhouette so there is a good amount of flare out at the hip which I really like! I've never done a sway back adjustment but it looks like I could use one here, as you can see a lot of fabric pooling in my lower back. The sleeves are also a tiny bit too long. All good things to note for next time!

I got this fabric from Joanne's online about two years ago, it is a chambray shirting with some cute pink cherries that they are unfortunately sold out of. And I actually cut this out pretty soon after I bought it before moving to Newfoundland and it had been sitting at my mom's house for over a year not getting made. That probably makes this one of my happiest WIPs to finally complete this year :)

I used the version with two pockets (and pocket flaps) which I thought went well with the demin-ish look of the fabric. Also look how cute these metal buttons are! I hope the edge of the holes doesn't wear down on the thread.

So I have already worn this shirt twice to work! Definitely a big fan of the more fitted look. Also I promise I will start trying to take pictures with my real camera... cell phone pics are aight for now though I think :P

Look at this awesome animation my phone made! I didn't think I would be able to share it on the blog but it looks like it's working! So cool. :)
