Stripes on stripes...
Well they sort of both have stripes, the top is more of a dashed pattern... Anyways! I wore this outfit one day in Me Made May and took enough pictures before leaving the house that I think I can write a blog post about the two items I have on that I made. That's all it takes right? Enough photos? yeah let's go with that.

So we have a self drafted cardigan based off of a RTW one I liked, the part I am most proud of probably on this is the treatment of the stripes, I didn't have too much experience with pattern matching or placement before this make so the fact that I stopped to think about how the back and front pieces came together and how to place the stripes on the arms and collar band is a big step!
I think this fabric would be classified as a study ponte knit, it doesn't have too much stretch. And I totally wear this sweater lots and lots.

Now for the shirt! So I made this one quite a few years ago based off of one of my mom's old patterns from the 80s which I can't seem to find online. I actually am wearing the shirt backwards from the way it was designed but I quite like it with the excitement in the back, I think it makes it more on trend. The pattern is a basic boxy tee with kimono sleeves and a cool overlapped draped back. I used a very pretty sheer fabric with gold and silver dashes on it, I lined the front so I could wear this with out a tank top underneath if I wanted and not be tooooo scandalous.

As you can see I left the back pieces un-lined which gives the shirt a little more pizzaz and makes it a fun "night out" shirt, but with the cardi I can totally wear it to work :)

Thanks for stopping by!
