Purple Moji Pants

I made the Moji Pants by Seamwork in January and I really love them, but it took some serious adjustments to get them to a point where I was able to fit into them. First some pictures!

I made a muslin in size 12 based on my hip measurements (41") and they did not fit at all. The main issue was butt coverage - I ended up adding 4" to the Centre Back and grading it down to just 1" at the sides, that way I didn't have half my buttcrack showing, extreme plumber style. I'm not sure what the proper way to do a Full Butt Adjustment is but this worked out pretty well for me, though I still had some wedgying so maybe something with the crotch curve. I'll have to research that. I also added 2 inches to the side seams on front and back at about crotch height (tapering down to nothing at the knee) to accommodate my thighs, I wanted a loose fitting casual jogger look, not a skin tight pair of jeggings. And when you look at the sample on the pattern page they are loose and cute! So I'm really glad I found a way to make these fit, I would definitely make them again, maybe in a green twill? or Floral?!

Total Adjustments:

Added 4" height to the centre back and tapered that off to one inch at the sides

Added 2" width at lower hip/thigh area tapering off to nothing at the knee

I didn't use the cuff that comes with the pattern, and I only used one layer for the pockets.

Here is a close up of the wrinkly front and side, I was wearing these at work and decided to take a couple pictures! I used a grosgrain ribbon for the waist tie and it turned out super cute. The fabric was a lightweight twill and is the first item I am checking off of my #2018MakeNine goals!

Here is how I wore it from work (casual Friday comfy clothes!)
